How Accurate are Holter Monitors?

As a wearable monitor that is battery-operated, a Holter monitor constantly records the electrical tracings of the heart, referred to as EKGs over a period of 24 to 48 hours. This monitor can be worn throughout the day during normal activities. It detects heart rhythm problems. Often it uses 4 to 7 leads that are attached to the chest wall with electrodes that resemble stickers. and a cardiologist reviews the tracings after a certain period of wearing the monitor. Did You Know? Pulse Oximetry Screening, It’s The Law!

PEDIATRIC_NEOBirthing facilities in New York State (this includes facilities such as general hospitals and clinics) are now legally required to screen newborn babies for congenital heart defects through pulse oximetry screening (also known as “pulse ox”). Congenital heart defects, which affect the structure and function of a newborns heart, are present in nearly 1% of live births each year. Pulse oximetry screening allows doctors to detect potentially fatal heart defects in newborns and take the necessary steps to ensure they receive proper treatment before problems occur. What are the laws in your state?  👶💞 #DidYouKnow #PulseOximetry #CHD

Note: Being a cardiology centric medical supply company means that we carry an extensive line of equipment to test pulse oximetry in both pediatric and adult patients. Check out our online catalog for more information or give us a call today!

Visit from CenterState CEO Ambassadors

DANLEE_CHAMBER_AMBASSADORSWe were so excited to have the CenterState CEO Ambassadors at our facility this morning to present us with a certificate of accomplishment for the recent expansion of our production department (oh… and and some of us were wearing green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!). Our business has grown so much in this area that we had to expand our footprint AND hire additional staff. Not to toot our own horn, but we think it’s kinda a big deal [toot – toot!] 😉. Thanks again to the Ambassadors for being so supportive! #FDARegulated #UDICompliant #YouNeedItWeWillBuildIt#HookupKitsAreOurBusiness #LeanAndMeanIn2018

CPR, AED & First Aid Certification

Over the weekend several of our team members took a course administered by CNY CPR where we learned infant, child and adult CPR and AED administration …as well as basic first aid. It was a very informative course where our skills were tested on life like dummies. If you are in the Syracuse area and are interested in obtaining your certification, check out CNY CPR. In our eyes, you can never be too prepared! #CPRSavesLives #EmergenciesHappen #OfficeSafetyIMG_5249 IMG_5251 IMG_5261 IMG_5267
